You're Welcome Craftsy!
or, an example of why you should always check your email...I, like many of you I'm sure, have been desperately waiting for Gertie's second Sew Retro course on Craftsy since it was announced in their email a month ago. As soon as I saw the email this morning I immediately purchased it...
Then, about 5 minutes later on a whim, I decided to also purchase the Jean-ius class with Kenneth D. King, which shows you how to draft a pattern for jeans based on ones you already own. I don't have a pair of jeans I love right now, but I thought this would be useful to have in the future and I wanted to take advantage of the sale...
$39.99 each didn't seem too bad until I went back to read the confirmation email from Craftsy and saw this!
Pretty sure this means I could have gotten the Jean-ius class for $25 instead of $40... Ugh. I'm looking on the bright side and considering the $15 as a donation to Craftsy for having awesome classes. The other downside to this is that now I can't focus on work because I can't wait to get home and watch these classes! Why won't someone just pay me to sew clothes for myself so I don't have to have a real job?
Happy Thursday Lovelies!

Write commentsHey classmate!!! I just tried it because I wanted the Couture class too and that one and the Jean-ius one was still their regular price. It does't even show the sale $39.99 that you could get those two for so you still made out.
ReplyI should be ashamed of myself since I haven't even made my bombshell yet :-/
"Why won't someone just pay me to sew clothes for myself so I don't have to have a real job?"
ReplyI ask myself that every single day!
I signed up for the Jean-ius class. It is way out of my league. Can't decide if I want to do couture dress or the tailored jacket next. I've done a few of the quilting classes too. I LOVE craftsy.
ReplyYou should try emailing them and see if they will credit you.
I have found you really have to watch for sales and stuff- I've seen classes $10 cheaper on my phone then on my computer. And their facebook page often has discounts.
Hmmm, yes, when I look, the Kenneth King class is still $79, but I've been waiting for them to slash the price. Wonder what gives...
ReplyI really want to do the Kenneth King class, too! I've got so much on my to-do list that it seems crazy, but how fun would it be to make your own jeans?!
ReplyHi Forrest,
ReplyMy name is Michael and I'm part of Craftsy team. This post popped up in my Google Alerts, so first: thanks for writing about us and your interest Kenneth and Gertie's classes! Second: I wanted to reach out about the pricing issue you mention.
Unfortunately, because Jean-ius and Gertie's latest class, The Starlet Suit Jacket are more expensive than our other online classes, the $25 special offer does not apply to them (these classes - along with Susan Khalje's Couture Dress class include exclusive materials and patterns, hence the slightly higher price than a typical class).
However, we want you to have an awesome experience with us, so if you send an email to help@craftsy.com, we'd be happy to process a refund to reflect the $25 offer. That goes for anyone in the comments here as well ;)
For those of you who haven't signed up yet, you can also email help@craftsy.com and we'll send you a discount link!
Thanks again for your interest in these classes and Craftsy.
Happy Sewing!
-Michael
Thanks so much Michael! I appreciate the offer but I think these classes are definitely worth the amount I paid!
