Happy Mothers Day! (plus a giveaway winner)

First of all, Happy Mothers Day to my awesome mom, whose sewing skills I'll never match!

Secondly, the winner of the bow tie blouse top is Liza Jane of Liza Jane Sews who apparently hoards dress patterns the way I hoard blouse patterns. And also makes fabulous things that I'm jealous of and re-covers couches...
(Unfortunately, I'm posting this through the blogger app on my phone so I can't link to her page, but you should definitely check it out!)

Finally, I'm going to be a little late posting my Me Made May pictures this week. I spent Friday and Saturday helping the fiancé pack for his move and today I'm heading down to the river for a few days with the family. I'll be back on Wednesday, hopefully with a few new things to show you!

Hope you all are having a marvelous Mother's Day!

Obsession...

Or, how many bow tie blouse patterns is it reasonable for one person to own?

Because I think I own 10. At least 10. It's kind of a problem. So much so that the other day I discovered I had purchased the same bow tie blouse pattern twice from Etsy. Yikes.

Anyway, I'm giving one to you dear readers! The pattern is size 14, 36 inch bust and it's clearly very cute since I bought it twice!

Leave me a comment letting me know what type of garment you have multiple patterns for (or if you're a person who can settle for just one version of a bow tie blouse!). I'll pick someone on Friday, May 11th and let you know!

Dream Dress + Giveaway Winner!

The preview for next months Burda just came up on the Russian website here and I'm pretty obsessed with this dress...

I want to make it with this fabric I showed you a few days ago. Unfortunately I have to wait for the fabric and the magazine to come in before I get started. Perfect engagement photo dress right?

Now to the giveaway! The winner is Kelli who said:

Congratulations on your 100 followers, and your engagement. Since I have had the Iris pdf pattern in my colette shopping cart since it was released, that's the pattern I would love to have(instant gratification, right?)

Shoot me an email Kelli and I'll get Iris right to you!

Thanks for entering and happy Wednesday!

Celebration Time! 100 Followers!

First of all, thank you so much for all your kind words regarding our engagment! I've been overwhelmed by all the love coming my way over the last few days! I'm so excited to share all the sewing/diy/craftiness I have planned for this wedding with all of you!

Secondly, I hit 100 followers today! Time to celebrate!

Number 100 is Cara who left this comment this morning...

Hi sweet lady! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I found your blog via I love you to the moon and I'm SO glad I did! I'm your newest follower! xoxo

Cara, you are such a doll and I love your blog! So beautiful and inspirational!

Of course you are ALL beautiful and inspirational to me so I wanted to send you a little thank you giveaway for being such fabulous and lovely followers!

I know we're all gaga over the new Colette Patterns, I personally am trying to restrain myself from buying all three, but I definitely am having a hard time choosing just one! Anyway, one of my lovely readers will win one of the new patterns, Hazel, Lily, or Iris! In order to win you have to be a follower of my blog and leave me a comment telling me which pattern you want and in which format (print or PDF) by Friday, April 20th at noon!

Best of luck my loves!

Crazytown + Giveaway Winners

So before we get to the giveaway winners, can we talk about this crazy thing that happened last night?

I just happened to see this last night as I was doing my final Facebook check of the day! So crazy! I'm definitely not used to having my little blog mentioned by other people! So turns out it was a little controversial (here's a link to the Sewing Club page if you want to check out the comments and here's the original post). Apparently people were upset that I said "women" should sew rather than "everyone" should sew. There was also some fodder about some women not wanting to learn to sew. So just to clarify for the Facebook commenter's who probably did not read the actual post, I do think that men should know how to sew as well, and I'm not insisting that everyone MUST know how to sew. If you hate it you don't have to! Anyway, whatever, I got 700 pages views on that post alone yesterday so I'm not complaining!

Now on to the winners!

The winner for a pattern from Victory Patterns is...

And the winner of the Pattern Runway pattern is...

Christina from This, That, The Other Thing!

Congratulations ladies! I've sent you both an email to confirm which patterns you'd like so be on the lookout for that! Also, thanks to everyone who entered! I wish I could share the warm weather and the strawberry margaritas I've been enjoying lately with all of you!

Sew Grateful!

Since today is the last day of my birthday giveaway (enter here by noon!), I figured I would show you the giveaways I won during Sew Grateful week!

First of all, I won a Burda pattern of my choice from VickiKate Makes! I chose the Madison dress, which VickiKate got to me super quick. I can't wait to make it!

Secondly, I won this gorgeous piece of silk from Joanne of Stitch and Witter's trip to Laos and Thailand! It's so beautiful I can't even stand it! I don't know what I'm going to make but whatever it is will be fabulous because of this fabric! Anybody have any suggestions for it? It's about 3 yards, and around 30 inches wide, so I'm not sure if I have enough for a dress... maybe a small one?

Thanks to these two ladies for these awesome gifts! Stay tuned for the winners of my giveaway tomorrow plus some actual finished garments this week!
