Spoiling Myself Rotten...

It's ridiculous how much sewing stuff I'm buying myself for my "Christmas present" this year. Does it make you a bad person to spend more money on Christmas gifts for yourself than everyone else on your list combined? Maybe. But if this is wrong I don't want to be right...

First up, 2 vintage patterns from Etsy:

First Simplicity 7845, which I saw on someone else's blog (can't remember who now) and then immediately snatched up the first one I saw on Etsy. If I can get my butt off the couch this morning I'll be making the cream colored version in maroon for Christmas.

Second is Simplicity 6912, which I purchased from a fellow Texan, Christa, who has a million great patterns for really decent prices, so go over and get some! I'm crazy excited about this pattern because I already have 50 different ways I want to make it for summer!
In other pattern news...

I shamefully have never purchased any Colette patterns, although I have used and loved the Sorbetto, so I bought the Colette Sewing Handbook as well as the patterns for the Clover pants (I've been wanting to make these forever!) and Jasmine blouse. Can't wait for it all to come in!

Then, this morning I discovered (via Lazy Stitching) another fabulous independent sewing company, Victory Patterns! I immediately purchased the Ava Dress/Blouse, which is too fabulous for words and it's now patiently sitting in PDF form on my computer, waiting to be printed out!
Finally, to round out the "printed materials" category, I bought the famed Fit for Real People a few weeks ago and have been gobbling it up ever since! I've heard so much about this book and I'm super excited to use the techniques in it, however, I have to say, the pictures and styling make me laugh every time. Especially this one...

Finally, the sister and mom came to the city yesterday for some craft store/pet store shopping and since JoAnns was having a huge sale and I had the coupons, they graciously invited me along. So I ofcourse bought a ton of fabric, as you do...

And I finally caved and bought the Martha Stewart glitter glue pens I've been lusting after for almost a year. They're $35 normally, but I had a 40% off coupon, which brought them down to around $20. Maybe after another year of convincing I'll buy the loose glitter collection...

Here are all 24 of them in their glittery glory...

I've already used them to give myself a glittery Christmas manicure that I'm not sure you can see in this picture. Suffice to say, my nails are super sparkly, just the way I like them!

Hope you're spoiling yourself a little (or a lot) this Christmas too!

Fabulous stuff! Don't feel bad. I have been Christmas shopping multiple times only to have bought myself three pairs of shoes and nothing for my dad yet. And those glitter glue pens are too fabulous!:]

I ramp up my me shopping at Christmas to hedge against the horror of another chenille housecoat from mom. I endorse your purchasing if that helps! I also like to practice modern dance with a bag on my head, its relaxing.

Your blouse turned out really cute. I also just bought the Colette Sewing handbook, Clover, and Jasmine! I just finished the Licorice dress and really like it. (you can see it on my blog www.encue.blogspot.com)

I also tend to buy myself way too much stuff at Christmas - but it's OK, nobody else would be buying that for me!

Hi. Just found your blog and have been browsing. Also wanted to let you know I bought the same mustard cotton print with the white flowers. Here's what I made with it (you might recognize the pattern): http://www.flickr.com/photos/15781018@N05/7369138524/in/photostream

How about you?

That is so cute! I haven't even used the fabric yet but now I'm getting ideas...
